How iPOS Can Help
Lightspeed's onboarding services provide valuable guidance throughout the implementation process. Add iPOS Support Services to your Lightspeed onboarding if you want a dedicated guide to walk you through setup, provide in-depth process training, or offer extra hands-on help.
Whether you need a dedicated partner to guide you thru the entire onboarding or targeted help with system setup, training, hardware, and ongoing support, iPOS adapts to your needs, allowing you to take advantage of Lightspeed's included onboarding resources while also having the option for additional support from the iPOS team.
1. Welcome & Account Activation
To license your Lightspeed account, you’ll complete the activation online, where you’ll accept the terms and conditions of your agreement and enter your payment details. The primary account contact will receive a welcome email from Lightspeed with instructions to get started.
This email will include:
- Account activation instructions
- Login information
- Instructions to create your password
- Links to important resources, including the Lightspeed Knowledge Base, Training Academy/Hub, and Support
2. Onboarding Kickoff
After your account is activated, Lightspeed will reach out by email or phone to schedule your initial onboarding call with an onboarding specialist.
During this call, Lightspeed will:
- Confirm your goals and implementation timeline
- Review your planned go-live date
- Explain the onboarding process and responsibilities
- Clarify what will be handled by you and what will be handled by Lightspeed
- Review any integrations or data migration needs
- Discuss your hardware and setup plans
3. Setup & Configuration
During the setup phase, you'll receive guided checklists, resources, and help articles to assist with configuring your Lightspeed X-Series account.
Depending on your setup, this may include:
- Taxes and tax settings
- Payment settings
- Products and menus
- Users and permissions
- Hardware
- Integrations
- Other account and business settings
Your onboarding specialist can help guide you through the process and answer questions along the way.

4. Training & Go-Live Support
As you get closer to your go-live date, Lightspeed will provide reminders, resources, and best-practice tips to help you prepare.

- Preparing for go-live
- Making sure staff are comfortable with the system
Go-Live Day
On go-live day and shortly afterward, support is available to help troubleshoot issues and make any necessary adjustments or fine-tuning as you begin using Lightspeed in your day-to-day operations.
5. Post-Go-Live Follow-Up
Once you're up and running, Lightspeed will continue to provide resources and follow-up focused on getting the most out of your system.

After the onboarding process is complete, your account transitions into Lightspeed's ongoing support and account management structure.
You'll continue to have access to Lightspeed's support resources and support team, and an Account Manager will take over as your ongoing point of contact.
