From the left hand Menu, select "Menu" then Reporting"
Next, select "Menu" (again)
Select the type of Report you want to run; Inventory, Sales, etc. Based on the permissions for the signed in user, your Reporting Menu may look different.
In this example we will select "Sales Report"
What is displayed under the 'Sales Report' subtitle will depend on what Lightspeed Plan you are subscribed to.
- Basic will not include certain Reports -
- Core includes most all reports -
- Plus will include most all reports, and give you the ability to save and share reports -
In this example, we will run a Product Category Report by Product.
Under "Report type", select "Product Category"
Under "Measure", select "Items Sold"
Under "Date Range", be sure to select your Period or Date. Here is an article that helps understand Selecting a Date Range on LSX Reports.
Use 'More Filters' for additional filters for the report
Use 'Format Results' for additional formatting of the report
Export the Report to 'Numbers'
In the top right of the report results and beneath the filters, select "Export report...".
Select "CSV format".
Select to 'Open in "Numbers"'
Format and Print the Report from Numbers
With the Report open in 'Numbers', simply format the font, columns, or rows accordingly, if necessary.
On the bottom of the display you may select the layout of portrait or landscape, and adjust the size of the report with the slider in the middle.
Recommendation: move the slider left to right until the report overflows to a second page, then back the slider so the report format takes only one page.
Select 'Print' in the top right.
Select the Air Print capable printer that you want to print to.
Select the circular green print icon in the upper right hand corner of the window named "Options".
After the report prints, touch Done in the upper left corner
Close the "Numbers" app.
Switch to the Safari App and select the '<' in the top left. This will take you back to the Reports screen.
It is good to leave Safari open and on the Reports screen for future use.
