This article will go through the scenario where a customer starts a purchase, then makes a deposit on a LayBy. The customer then pays the remaining balance but an adjustment needed to be made to the price charged after the LayBy was paid in full and the LayBy sale completed.
If an adjustment needs to be made prior to the LayBy being paid in full and completed, the transaction can be continued and the price altered as needed.
Once the LayBy is paid in full and completed, a refund or exchange can be performed on the completed LayBy transaction.
If the sale price in the LayBy needs to be changed after the LayBy sale is completed, an exchange will need to be performed.
- Go into "Sell" and then "Sales History" from the main toolbar.
- Find the completed LayBy transaction that you need to address and click the return icon. In addition to the Status showing "Completed", it will also show LayBy.
- Remove anything that does not get returned leaving only the items to return/exchange. In this example, we will be removing the misc. charge for $0.51 by clicking the trash button.
- Add any new items at the correct price to the return and the transaction will now become an exchange. In this example, we are adding another misc. charge for $1.00.
- When you are ready to complete the refund/exchange, click "Pay" and then click "LS Payments".
- If money is owed to the customer for the refund, this will put the refund back on the card they used.
- If money is owed to the business for the exchange, the pin pad terminal for "LS Payments" will prompt for the customer's card.
