Since price books are based on actual items and not groups of items such as categories or brands, when you add a new item, the most efficient process would be to add the price book to the prices within the new item(s).
In this example, we will be using an existing price book named "Price Book - Test".
- In the left hand window pane, click "Catalog".
- In the sub window pane named "Catalog", click "Products".
- In the main window pane, navigate to the newly created item and click the "Edit" button.
- Scroll down until you get to the section named "Price and Loyalty".
- Underneath the price point named "General Price Book (All Products)", click "+Add another price point".
- Click the box named "Choose a price point".
- A new window will appear and you can either manually search or select an existing price book from the list.
- In this example, we will choose the existing price book named "Price Book - Test".
- With the price book selected, you can now change either the Markup, Margin, or Retail Price for the selected price book that you want.
- For this example, we will set the Retail Price to $2.00.
- Now that the existing price book has been added to the item, click "Save" to save the changes to the item.
