You will need two iPads to use the customer facing display. One for the Lightspeed Retail X Series POS app and a second one for the Lightspeed Retail X Series Display app.
For the Customer Facing Display app to work properly you must be on at lest version 3.9.10 of the Lightspeed Retail X Series POS app and version 2.0.0 of the Lightspeed Retail X Series Display app.
Please note that both iPads must be on the same network to function.
- Download and install the Lightspeed Retail X Series POS app on the employee facing iPad if that has not already been performed.
- Go to the App Store on the iPad that will be used as the customer facing display.
- Tap "Search" in the lower right hand corner.
- Type "Lightspeed Retail" in the search box and tap Enter.
- Scroll down until you find the result named "Lightspeed Display (X)" and tap the download/get button.
- If you are prompted to enter your credentials for your Apple ID, enter them.
- Once the download has completed, tap "Open".
- You will be prompted to pair the display with Lightspeed Retail X Series POS.
- At this point you need to go to the iPad that is running Lightspeed Retail X Series POS and log into your account accordingly.
- Tap the three horizontal lines in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
- In the left hand window pane, tap "Settings".
- In the left hand window pane, tap "Hardware".
- In the main window pane under the section named "Lightspeed Display", tap to enable the option named "Enable Lightspeed Display".
- Once enabled, it will display the paring code that is needed on the iPad that will be using the Customer Facing Display app.
- Enter the pairing code on the iPad that will be using the Customer Facing Display app and then tap "Pair".
- You will now be prompted to allow the Display app to access devices on your network. Tap "Allow".
- The Customer Facing Display app is now paired with the employee facing iPad that is running the Lightspeed Retail X Series POS app as shown below.
