Written Cancellation
Revel (Shift4) requires (30) days written notice to cancel your account. If iPOS bills you for your subscription, we will make the cancellation request on your behalf.
If you are billed directly by Revel (Shift4), Please email cancellationnotice@revelsystems.com and a client relations representative will contact you. (Or, if you have an account manager, please contact them directly.)
Exporting Data
You should export all needed data from the Management console, as you will not have access to this information once the cancellation is complete. To pull any reports needed from the Management Console, please see the Exporting Sales Data guide. If you need further assistance with the export, there may be a fee associated with the service.
Exporting Sales Data
Go to Management Console > Go to Every Report > Select time frame for 12 months at a time > Click on 3 dots (...) > Export and file will be generated for 12 months
Note: You can export a maximum of 12 months at a time. After you select a 12 month period, it might take a couple of minutes to generate the report.
Finalizing Payments
It is important to complete each item below. Failure to do so may result in lost payments and data.
Verify Payments Sync via Management Console
After payments have been batched, you need to verify that your payments have synced with the Management Console. To do so:
- From your Management Console at [yoursubdomain].revelup.com, navigate to Reports and choose the Payment History Report.
- Select the current week as the time period, and verify that all Credit payments are labeled Captured.
If any of the payments are not labeled Captured, please call Support immediately to have an agent assist.
Check for Declined/Offline Payments
Verify there are no declined or offline payments. View the article on How to Manage Declined/Offline Payments.
Check for Unsynced, Open, and Held Orders and Invoices
- On the Dashboard, tap "Orders".
- Next, tap "Unsynced Orders". If there are unsynced orders, close them out per usual procedure.
- Return to the Dashboard. Tap "Orders".
- Then, tap "Open Orders". If there are any open orders, close them out per usual procedure.
- Finally, return to the Dashboard again. Tap "Invoices". If any invoices are listed in the Outstanding Invoices window, close them out per usual procedure.
Close Tills
- On the Dashboard, under Operations tap "Tills".
- If there are open tills, close them out per usual procedure.
Should you need access to your data after your Management Console/Establishment is deactivated, there will be a separate fee incurred. Revel cannot guarantee data recovery after your Management Console is deactivated, so please make sure to export your reports and data now.
Merchant (Credit Card Processing) Account Closure
If Revel is required to cancel your payment processor you will receive a separate email confirming the cancellation. If you utilize a third-party processor, be sure to contact your merchant services provider to close this account once all payments have been received and any reports needed are downloaded for reference. If iPOS assisted in your merchant account application through HMS, we can submit the cancellation request with your written or verbal permission - just let us know!
