Enabling/Disabling Offering to Save Your Password
- On your computer, open Google Chrome.
- At the top right, click "Profile
" and then click "
Passwords and autofill".
- In the main window pane named "Autofill and passwords", click "Google Password Manager".
- If you can’t find the "Passwords and autofill" icon at the top right of your screen, click "More", then click "
Passwords and autofill" and then click "Google Password Manager".
- In the left window pane, click "Settings".
- Turn the option named "Offer to save passwords and passkeys" on or off by clicking the toggle button.
- If you enter a new password on a site, Google Chrome will ask you to save it or not. To save the password, click "Save".
- To check the password that will be saved, click Preview
.
- If there are multiple passwords on the page, click the Down arrow
. Choose the password you want saved.
- If your username is blank or incorrect, click the text box next to "Username". Enter the username you want saved and click "Save".
- If you want to save a different password, click the text box next to "Password." Enter the password you want saved and click "Save".
Manually Add a new Password
- On your computer, open Google Chrome.
- In the top right of your screen, click "More", then click "
Passwords and autofill" and then click "Google Password Manager.
- In the left window pane, click "Passwords".
- In the main window pane, click "Add".
- Enter a website, username, password, and then click "Save".
Tip: If you’re signed in to your Google Account on your computer, you can save the password to your Google Account, or save the password locally on your device.
Sign in With a Saved Password
If you saved your password to Google Chrome on a previous visit to a website, Google Chrome can help you sign in.
- On your computer, go to a site you've visited before.
- Go to the site’s sign-in form.
- If you’ve saved a single username and password for the site: Chrome will fill in the sign-in form automatically.

- If you’ve saved more than one username and password: Select the username field and choose the sign-in info you want to use.
Show, Edit, Delete, or Export Saved Passwords
- On your computer, open Google Chrome.
- At the top right, click "Profile", then click "
Passwords and autofill".
- In the main window pane named "Autofill and passwords", click "Google Password Manager".
- If you can’t find the "Passwords and autofill" icon at the top right of your screen, click "More", then click "
Passwords and autofill" and then click "Google Password Manager.
- In the left window pane, click "Passwords".
- Select the website you with to change information for.
- You may be prompted to enter the password for your user account in Windows. If so, enter your password.
- Show: To the right of your password, click the arrow "
" and then click "Show password".

- Edit: Click "Edit".
- In the new window go into the password field, update the password, and then click "Save".
- Delete: In the new window, click
- Export: In the left hand window pane, click "Settings".
- In the main window pane under the section named "Settings", click "Download file" under the option named "Export passwords".
- You may be prompted to enter the password for your user account in Windows. If so, enter your password.
- Select the folder that you would like to save the export to, name the file, and then click "Save" to save the export.
To clear all your saved passwords, clear browsing data and select "Passwords".
