When you are no longer using Lightspeed Accounting to send data to your QBF Desktop company file via the QB Web Connector, you will need to disable the automatic updates that are configured and also disable the QB Web Connector from automatically starting.
- Open the QB Web Connector.
- You will see a listing of any configurations.
- In the above example, the connection is named "Shogo - LS R-Series".
- If the checkmark to the left of the application name is checked, uncheck it.
- Once it has been unchecked, it will look like this.
- You will now want to uncheck the option for the connection named "Auto-Run".
- Once it has been unchecked, it will look like this.
- Once both options have been unchecked, you can now close the QB Web Connector.
- Right click the Windows icon in the Taskbar and then click 'Run".
- In the Run window that popped up, type "shell:common startup" (without the quotes) and then click "OK".
- You will now see a Windows Explorer window open and you will see a listing named "QuickBooks Web Connector".
- Once it has been unchecked, it will look like this.
- Right click the entry named "QuickBooks Web Connector" and then delete it.
- Please note that the example being shown is using Windows 11, so the above screen will look slightly different if using Windows 10.
- Once the entry for the QB Web Connector has been deleted, it will no longer be shown in the list.
You have now prevented the QB Web Connector from starting automatically and from automatically updating.
