This article will walk you through changing the DNS servers on a Wise POS E pin pad terminal that is connected to a wireless network.
You may need to make a change to the DNS servers that the Wise POS E pin pad terminal uses if there are communication issues between Lightspeed Retail or X Series and the terminal.
- Power on the Wise POS E pin pad terminal and wait until it displays the idle screen shown below.
- On the touchscreen, swipe from left to right.
- Tap "Settings".
- You will now be prompted to enter the admin PIN. It is "07139".
- You will be taken to the menu.
- Tap "Network".
- You will see a listing of wireless networks.
- Tap the wireless network that the Wise POS E pin pad terminal is connected to.
- You will now see information about the wireless network that the Wise POS E pin pad terminal is connected to.
- Under the section named "DNS settings", tap "Custom".
- Tap "+ Add server".
- Tap the box named "Server 1".
- Enter "8.8.8.8".
- Tap the box named "Server 2".
- Enter "8.8.4.4".
- Tap "Save" in the upper right hand corner.
- You will be taken back to the "Network" menu.
- Tap "Back" in the upper left hand corner.
- You will be taken to the main menu.
- Tap "Diagnostics".
- Scroll down until you see "DNS resolution" with a status of "Passed" and "Stripe connectivity" with a status of "Passed".
