This article will walk you through the process of performing a factory reset.
Notes
- A Factory Reset will
- Restore factory default settings
- Reset the software to the original version, followed by downloading and installing all updates.
- Remove your network settings
- Take a minimum of 12 to 15 minutes.
- A Factory Reset will not unpair your terminal from the register
- If the terminal is unpaired from your LSX POS account prior to performing the Factory Reset, the terminal will
- Perform the Factory Reset
- Display a "Pass Phrase" which is your pairing code
- Once paired with a register, perform updates
- Your internet speed will determine the actual amount of time the Factory Rest takes to complete
- There are two methods of performing a Factory Reset
Prerequisites
- Terminal must be powered on
- Terminal's battery must be charged to at least 20%
Two Button Method
From the idle screen
Press and hold the blue outlined buttons, one on each side, for approximately 15 seconds.
A Warning window will appear, "Warning, Are you sure you want to factory reset?"
Touch "YES" to start the factory reset process.
The terminal will power off and start the factory reset process
As the terminal restarts, it will prompt to choose a language
Touch English, or your preferred language
If the terminal is connecting via WiFi, click here to review the Connecting to a wireless network, then Install Updates and Finish
Hardwired Connection
If the terminal is in its dock and connected to a hard wired network, touch Continue with Ethernet
Touch Connect
The application will connect to the servers to perform the updates
Go to Install Updates and Finish
Install and Finish Updates
After the updates have installed, the idle screen (Lightspeed Logo) will display and the factory reset is complete.
Advanced Settings Method
This method is similar for both a wired connection and a wireless connection. The difference is when the terminal is reconnected to the network.
From the Advanced Settings Menu
Touch Factory Reset
Touch Reset device
Confirm factory reset by touching OK
The terminal will now reset and proceed thru a number of screens. You will be prompted to select a language.
